Make a Complicated Project EZ
If you’re looking to improve both the operating efficiency and safety of your pipeline, then the LIMECO EZ® Nitrogen Loading System is your answer. The LIMECO EZ® can control the pressure to a tolerance of +/- 3 PSI all day, every day, regardless ambient temperature changes at the location of the installation. Designed for outdoor service and rated for Class 1 Div. 1 hazardous area installations, this robust system will maintain the desired pressure range on the relief valve all year long with little to no interaction from field technicians.
The LIMECO EZ® System was built to replace the unreliable mechanical regulator panels of the past. Mechanical systems can generate a high number of call outs and require a technician to manually make daily pressure correction in response temperature changes. These unplanned call outs often require time and travel to clear the alarm and add a significant hidden cost. With our current economy, the industry is starting to reevaluate these costs and is quickly transitioning to self-correcting nitrogen systems. By doing this, pipelines are virtually eliminating the need for unscheduled call outs on these systems.
The LIMECO EZ® will automatically add and vent nitrogen from the surge relief system as needed throughout the day to ensure that the correct nitrogen pressure is always on the surge relief valve. This dramatically improves the performance and repeatability of the surge relief valve. With tight pressure control on the nitrogen the surge relief valve will open and close at a predictable point every time the valve actuates.
Each system comes standard with features like local display buttons for changing the set point range, Modbus RTU can be used to change the pressure control range remotely, calibration manifold for transmitter calibration, spring loaded PSV to protect the gas loaded surge relief valve max working pressure, manual bypass and mechanical back up.
Another feature of these systems is the Limeco Ceramic Bead Insulated Plenum. To start, our plenums use DOT / TC approved nitrogen tanks that are hydro tested by a third-party inspector. This ensures the quality and provides the longest life span possible for this type of product. After inspection, these tanks undergo a special seven layers insulating paint process, which includes two layers of reflective paint and 5 layers of ceramic bead paint. The ceramic bead paint is the same technology used on the NASA Space shuttles to prevent temperature loss in sub-zero environments. After the painting process is complete, the tank is inserted into a PVC jacket to protect it from the elements. This resilient design along with an electronic control panel eliminates the need to bury plenums for temperature stability.
Additional features that can be added to the Limeco EZ® System are: a nitrogen supply transmitter, panel mounting stand that includes a supply bottle holder with manifold, LIMECO ceramic bead plenum, plenum mounting kits, and plenum mounting stands, tube kits and topworks assemblies.
Liquid Meter Company has done extensive research on the effects of temperature on the nitrogen pressure inside the surge relief valve. A technical paper was published by ASME titled “The Benefits and Methods of Automating Surge Relief Valves”. This paper was presented at the International Pipeline Conference in Calgary, AB, Canada, and The International School of Hydrocarbon Measurement (ISHM). Please check it out below.
