The Positive Displacement Meter is a volumetric flow metering device designed for the accurate measurement of petroleum and petrochemical liquids. The design provides the high accuracy and rugged durability required in today’s fluid transfer market. Positive displacement meters can be obtained in either a single or double case design. In single case construction, the external housing serves as both the pressure vessel as well as the measuring section wall.
In a double case meter, the measuring section has a dedicated housing separate from the pressure vessel. The double case design eliminates the adverse effects caused by pressure changes that can distort the measuring section wall. This design allows the complete internals to be easily removed for maintenance and line start up.
Since positive displacement meters are driven by the flowing stream, they can operate without electric power in remote locations. They are offered with a wide range of accessories as well as a diverse selection of metals and elastomers making them compatible for use with almost every fluid. When the meter is equipped with a pulse or analog output, it can easily be integrated into the most sophisticated automation system. This meter continues to be one of the best choices for industries looking for both accuracy and reliability.
